Select Surveys are a successful surveying company, working on large scale projects across the UK. Managed from their head office in Wrotham, teams of Engineers are dispatched around the UK to provide services such as Utility mapping, Modelling/BIM, Augmented reality, Utility searches, Planning and a full range of surveying solutions.
Although initial discussions revolved around many requirements, it was felt the process of applying for utility searches was causing the most pain so it was agreed to focus on this as the first priority with a view to adding additional functionality in future phases.
We’ve been providing both Managed IT and Web Development services to the Hymns Ancient and Modern group for many years now, and have watched the Charity grow to incorporate a number of business offerings. Having acquired various organisations over the last few years, their web presence was left feeling disjointed and without a clear group image. To bring together all the individual divisions of the business, CEO Dominic Vaughan, made the decision to develop the Hymns Ancient and Modern heritage brand as the common link.
Special Purpose Equipment (SPE), are a Medway based designer and manufacturer of innovative special purpose assembly and test equipment. Their manufacturing process requires hundreds of purchase orders to be generated on a monthly basis. The process of creating and maintaining the PO process had been historically managed using Excel spreadsheets. As with any spreadsheet solution, it starts out as a great way to manage a process, but can soon become unmanageable as the spreadsheets and complexity requirements grow.
SPE asked if ITMC Systems could develop a database to streamline this process and provide a simple but more robust method for managing this time consuming part of the business.
Their business is based around a membership subscription, which gives them access to a suite of exclusive information relevant to their industry sector. Their existing website was first developed back in 2002, and had grown to hold more and more information but was proving unwieldy and was no longer reflecting the ISBA’s brand.
Key requirements identified:A number of strategic analysis sessions, we were able to highlight the key areas of the business that were experiencing the most pain. With this in mind, we went about designing a bespoke modular based system that would tackle these key areas, whilst providing a framework for future growth. The system has now grown to accommodate a considerable part of the business.
